A country still recovering from war and mass executions. It’s now safe to travel almost anywhere in the country side. Most of the land mines have been removed or an unlucky person has found them. Angkor Wat is impressive and yet it’s the people I’m drawn to.
Taxis in most towns including the capitol are motor cycles. It’s a great way to get around. The roads away from the main highways are rough at best and require stamina even in a car. It’s worth the effort to get there. The Mekong provides easy transportation most of the year.
The people enjoy having their picture taken and if you have a digital camera crowds gather around to see themselves. |
